Republicans are denying any culpability for Trump in the attack in DC, citing the hostage-style teleprompter video his lawyers forced him to do, where he condemned the violence and agreed to a peaceful transition. But I don't know, it didn't seem genuine to me. Maybe it's the fact that his eyes were blinking morse code that spelled "Fake News".
According to sources close to the White House, Trump and Pence did not speak for 5 days after the insurrection at the Capitol. Trump was like "I don't know why Mike is so pissed off. You call on your mob to drag out and publicly hang a guy and he gets all testy. What a snowflake."
The President is in a dark place these days. He refused for several days to let White House staff lower the American flag to half-mast to honor the officers killed in the coup. The White House said it was just a miscommunication because lowering the flag is usually reserved for truly solemn occasions-- like when it's too rainy to golf.
Josh Hawley, one of the few senators who challenged the ballot count in Congress, had his book deal dropped by Simon & Schuster, and blamed "the woke mob" instead of his own actions. What a shame, Joshie. I'm picturing right now all the bookworms who will miss out on reading it. How did a guy who thinks "irregardless" is a word even get a book deal anyway?
This is hilarious. After the siege in Congress, Senator Lindsey Graham was followed by a mob at the airport yelling "traitor" at him. Lindsey said in a statement "Well I declare! I am shocked, shaken, and chagrined. Who told those rascals my safe word is 'traitor'?"
Finally, as one of his last events in office, Trump will hold a rally in Alamo, Texas. I have a funny feeling Trump has no idea Alamo, Texas is not where The Alamo happened. Let's just say it could be a real Alamo Rent-a-Car Total Landscaping situation. Unlike the real Alamo, no one will remember it. But just like the real Alamo, there will be no survivors, and Mexico will pay for it.
