TRANSCRIPT:

Crop researchers have figured out a way to cryogenically preserve avocados in case a disease or disaster threatens their existence. Good to know that 100 years from now, when climate change has wiped out most life on this planet, you'll still be able to nosh on fresh guac. Asked what they're planning on preserving next, they said "tortilla chips".

A "ghost frog" not seen for 80 years has been rediscovered in a desert hot spring. Biologists are excited to reunite him with his best friend, Ghost Dog

NASA Astronaut Kate Rubins says she will be casting her vote from the International Space Station. In a related story, Trump has sent Space Force agents to the ISS to weld its mailbox shut.

In Finland, dogs are being used to detect coronavirus. Apparently the hardest part is training them to hold the swabs in their little paws.

Bonus story! Several NYC transit workers were busted for building a secret "man cave" under Grand Central Station, complete with a TV, fridge, microwave, and futon. A transit official said they broke several rules including creating an unauthorized break space, misusing resources, and not inviting him to the party. Oh I'm getting an update: all charges have been dropped because it turns out they were Ninja Turtles.

One more quick one from the Big Apple. New York City has officially banned pooping on subways and buses. It ends a long-standing tradition also known as "Dropping a Deblasio".
